As I have mentioned before, mixing your own cyanotype solution and applying it to your own paper can be experimental. In the image above you can see how the grains of the paper are coming through on the image. This occurred by accidentally putting the cyanotype solution on the textured side of the paper and not on the smooth side. Although this was accidental, I can see that it gives the image an aged look which I find quite tasteful. It's rewarding to see accidental successful experiments as I am working towards a final body of work. Reflecting back, I can confidently say that by making art a habit it is extremely beneficial for making work, staying committed, and not burning out of energy or passion.
